17 Months

Mattie is now 17 months!

She is a determined little girl that hates being told no. Lately we've been seeing lots of tantrums from our little monkey, and I'm nervous that the Terrible 2s have started a bit early.

We think she may be going through a growth spurt as well because for breakfast on Saturday she ate: her helping of scrambled eggs, my helping of scrambled eggs, plus 3 bowls of applesauce. Only 2 hours later, she ate 6 Chick-fil-A nuggets, a few waffle fries, a banana and a couple of grapes.

Her vocabulary is expanding almost every day. But even though she may say a word several times, she won't always use it in the future. Lack of clear communication definitely plays a part in the big tantrums she's been having.

Whenever we give her something, she now says "ank you" without us having to remind her.

School is still going well for her, with the exception of nap time. I think the longest nap she's had there has been 1 hour. Compare that to the 2 to 3 hour naps at home, and that makes for a very cranky girl by the time the evening arrives. Hopefully she'll adjust soon. I can't imagine an entire school year like this. No thank you.
