Parenting moments

Ella has a bad habit of leaving out toys. She will get out one thing, play for awhile, then get out something else.... And this trend could continue all day until my house was littered with stickers, crayons, dress up clothes, and more!

I've been working with her to put things away when she's done with them. As normal with a 3 yr old, some days are easier than others.

She's been playing with play dough at the dining room table for awhile and keeps getting up. I explained that as long as she is playing, she needs to stay seated at the table. And if she were to get up again without picking it up, it would get taken away.

Guess what Ella does? She slowly got up and stood right next to the chair.... Smiling at me.

So, her play dough is now on top of the fridge, out of reach.

Score is mom: 1, Ella: 0

Way to go! Did she have a meltdown? It is so much easier to get a handle on things NOW then when they are older, so keep up the good work! :)

She didn't even care! It's now the next morning and she hasn't even asked about it. I know that the meltdown will come at some point today because she normally spends a large portion of her day playing with the play dough!
