Where have the past 3 months gone? Tonight was Mattie’s first time in her Bible class and she celebrated by sleeping through most of it. (See picture 1.) Ha!
Mattie is a huge blessing to our family. She is such a sweet girl who loves to smile and laugh. One of her favorite activities is watching her sister. Ella will sing to Mattie and has started getting out books and toys for her to play with.
At 3 months Mattie is…
- Almost out of size 3 month clothes.
- On her last package of size 1 diapers.
- So so so close to rolling from both back to tummy, and tummy to back.
- Talking to us. I love her squeals and coos.
- Grabbing onto things (mostly blankets or burp cloths).
- “Sleeping” through the night. Starting last week we decided it was time to see how she’d do. She’s done great! Not always, but most nights her schedule is to eat at 10:30 and then goes to bed. She’ll sometimes cry out for a few minutes around 3, but goes back to sleep until around 6:30. Then goes back to sleep until 9:30.
- During the day she’ll normally eat every 3 hours and then in the evenings tends to eat every 2.
- Holding her head up so well! She loves to look around and can hold her up and turn it side to side when on her tummy.
She loves to watch things. When she’s on her playmat, she’ll spend a couple of minutes staring at the seahorse that hangs above her and then she’ll turn her attention to the picture of a bee that’s on the wall of the mat. She’ll go back and forth between those two objects and has even tried “grabbing” them a couple of times.
We absolutely adore her and are so thankful that God has trusted us with her. I love the way that she looks at Ella and how excited she gets when Ella tries to tell her something. She does seem to grimace a bit when she gets smothered with constant kisses and hugs…haha. I can already imagine what the future will hold for those two girls!
