Charlotte: 8 Months

I'm a little behind on updating this blog, but life has gotten pretty busy! Charlotte turned 8 months old a couple weeks back and quickly outgrew the newborn stage and is quite the baby on the move. She continues to be a super fast crawler and has even been cruising along furniture. We can see her think about trying to let go and stand on her own, but she's not ready for that yet (thankfully!).

After the craziness of the holidays, I've finally decided to get tough and put this girl on a schedule. We've kind of had a routine, but it wasn't very practical, and it wasn't very consistent actually. So, for the sanity of all of us, this girl now has a flexible schedule. She transitioned to it very smoothly and I'm so thankful that it's going well!

Between 8-830 AM she wakes up
Eats a 6 oz bottle and some baby food (about half a stage 2 jar)
Playtime
Between 10-1030 she goes down for a nap
Wakes up around noon
Eats a 6 oz bottle and some more baby food (about half of a different stage 2 jar)
Playtime
Goes down for a nap after we get Ella from school- around 3 PM
Wakes up around 430
Eats a 6 oz bottle
Playtime
530- Eats the leftover baby food from breakfast and lunch, and more if she's still hungry
Playtime
730 gets ready for bed
Between 8-830 eats most of an 8 oz bottle

Charlotte has 2 teeth! And we think that a couple more are now starting to bother her. Hopefully they won't take as long as these two stinkers. She is now wearing mostly size 9 month clothing, and size 3 diapers. She loves to babble, and can say "dada, mama, and baba (for bottle)".

She is a mommy's girl and loves for me to carry her around. But she also loves to be down on her own to explore the house. We recently installed a baby gate so she can't get to the stairs or to any of the bedrooms. It makes me job much easier to keep tabs on her since she puts EVERYTHING she finds into her mouth. Sigh. Having 2 big sisters doesn't make things easy to keep the house cleaned up, so I've been trying to work on that with them. But, our 3 and almost 6 year old have a hard time remembering to keep things picked up for baby sister.

Favorite foods include: puffs, mum mums, and any type of babyfood! She does NOT like avocados.

Charlotte is very ticklish and will even start to laugh if she sees your hand coming towards her in anticipation. She loves to play peek-a-boo, and loves wrestling with big sisters. Yes.... you read that right. She climbs all over them and loves to pull their hair and play. We are in for it with these three little girls. But it's so much fun to see the love that they have for each other! We are truly blessed.
