We have a 16-month-old! It’s hard to believe. And it’s crazy to look back at pictures from this time last year. She has changed so much.
Some of her most frequent words these days include (but are not limited to): momma, daddy, hi, bye, please, thank you, more, mil (for milk), dog, cat. Ella still babbles in her own language and at times gets very frustrated when we don’t understand her. I believe that this is her biggest source for her tantrums that we’ve been battling.
She continues to love reading. One thing that I will always cherish is that she’ll pick out a book and then crawl up in my lap. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing, once she decides to get in my lap, there is no stopping her.
Today, one of my coworkers (we also go to church with him) said that he’s never seen Ella without a smile on her face. She still loves to dance and always gets excited when we sing “If you’re happy and you know it..” Her favorite part is to yell “woohoo!”
We are working with her a lot (okay, Matt is the better teacher) to teach how to use her spoon at dinnertime. She does a fantastic job once the food is on the spoon, but the first step is still a little tricky. Luckily, she’s been pretty patient with us we we’re trying to teach her.
She continues to make us laugh and is such a joyful little girl. We are blessed that God gave her to us to take care of, teach and grow into a wonderful woman ready to do work for His kingdom.
