15 Month Well-Check

After going over all of the skills that she should be able to accomplish, her eating habits and sleeping pattern… her doctor said “she is setting the bar pretty high for your next kid.” Very true doc. Very true.

Because Ella is getting over a cold, I wasn’t terribly surprised to learn that she has fluid in both ears. As of right now, they aren’t infected… but we all know that it’ll only be a matter of time.

One thing that has been of concern to me for the past couple of months is her left eye. In March I noticed that it was pretty watery, but because it never bothered her, I just tried to wipe it clean with a washcloth once or twice a day. She got a cold later that month and I called the doctor’s office in concern for her eye. They prescribed some eye drops and said that she just had a cold in her eye. Well, since that cold has cleared up, her eye has continued to water. Her doctor seemed concerned because she never had any tear duct issues as a baby, but instructed me to massage the tear duct 3 times a day and to keep a close eye on it. If it is still acting this way by the time we take her in for her 18 month well-check, we’ll need to schedule for her to see an eye doctor. Stay tuned.
