Yesterday marked Ella’s 11-month birthday.
That means my baby will be a 1-year-old in less than a month. *tear* She has been quickly changing into a toddler and this milestone will make that all too real. At this point in time, Ella is…
- so close to walking. We predicted she’d walk by Christmas and now everyone is guessing that she will be walking by her birthday. When we hold her hands and let go, she’ll take a couple of steps on her own. She knows what she’s doing, but just working on getting the nerves to actually do it.
- biting. We aren’t too proud of this one and aren’t sure where she learned it. The only time that she does it when somebody is holding her and her target is usually the shoulder or chest. Any ideas on how to stop this habit?
- crawling not on all 4s, but on 3. Yes, you read that right. She crawls using her hands, left knee and right foot. People always comment on how they’ve never seen anything like it. Some say that she looks like a monkey, others just laugh. It’s pretty cute!
- saying “dada”, “mama”, and “byebye.”
- wearing size 4 diapers, size 18 month clothes, size 3 or 4 shoes.
- eating table foods more than baby food and uses a sippy cup each day for water. We’re trying to make the transition so that on her birthday she will be done with baby food and the bottle. Wish us luck!

She really is so beautiful! I cannot believe our little ones are so close to one!!
BTW, Sophie crawled like that as well. We called it her gimp crawl. She only did it for two weeks then she'd had enough and started walking. =O)
