Our 2 Week Old

Has it really been 2 weeks since she was born? Wow. Time has flown by and I suppose it's time for an update!

Concerning her jaundice, we took her back to the doctor the day after her levels had rebounded. Needless to say, we were worried about her numbers rising so quickly. They tested her again and the levels had dropped back to a 13. Her doctor said that it is perfectly normal and expected for the levels to have rebounded like they did. So, she is officially off of the billilights and enjoying time in the sun whenever possible!

Yesterday we took her in for her 2 week check-up and as the doctor said "she is perfect." We could have told him that! She weighed in at 6.6 lbs, measured at 19 inches long, and her head circumference was 13.5. We are so glad that she is a healthy little girl.

At exactly 1 week old, her umbilical cord fell off. I picked Ella up out of her swing when it fell to the floor! I definitely was shocked and didn't expect it to fall off so quickly.

Ella has been a wonderful blessing to our family. She is such a good little girl and cries only when she wants to be held or is hungry. She wakes up generally 2 or 3 times a night to eat and most of the time goes back to sleep quickly. Her days consist of many feedings, diaper changes and she has become more alert with each and every day. She loves to look around and smile at momma and daddy. Tanner is still ignoring her for the most part. He likes to lay on our laps when we hold her and hasn't appeared to feel threatened by the new addition to the family.

Our little girl is so cute!
